COVID-19 Response

As we all work to respond to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Foundation will consider grant requests on a rolling basis from the Foundation's current grantees in Milwaukee and Hawaii for:
Operating Support
Grants of up to $25,000 to help our current grantees meet emerging needs and sustain operations, with a priority on organizations that have a clear and direct role in limiting, shortening, or minimizing the economic, social, and health effects of the pandemic.
Eligible requests would focus on:
• Sustaining operations for recent grantees with acute, unexpected financial needs created by the COVID-19 pandemic
• Implementing necessary operational adjustments in response to the crisis
• Supporting costs that will not be addressed by federal or state stimulus or that might require a bridge until those funds are made available
Emergency Response Grants
One-time emergency grants of up to $100,000 to help our current Foundation grantees, or organizations invited to apply, meet emerging needs and increased demand for services with a priority on organizations and activities that address:
• Housing stability
• Food security
• Small business support
• Economic security of low-income families
• Closing the digital divide
• Grassroots community organizing
